Detailed Solution

Al-Biruni was sent to India by Mahmud Ghazni. He wrote Kitab-ul-Hind.  One of the most notable kings of Afghanistan during this period was Mahmud of Ghazni. His work gradually created the groundwork for Muslim governance to take hold throughout the subcontinent. He was in charge of the regions extending from Iran and Central Asia to the subcontinent's northwest. He is renowned for conducting repeated raids across the Indian subcontinent; one of his best-known raids involved the opulent Somnath Temple in Gujarat.
But he was also interested in discovering more about the people and places he had conquered. For this reason, he had assigned the responsibility of penning a thorough description of the subcontinent to the Iranian scholar Al-Biruni. The Kitab ul-Hind, often known as this narrative, is one of the most significant sources of knowledge regarding the early mediaeval era.
