Detailed Solution

The Rowlatt Act was the act through which the government got enormous powers to repress political activities and allowed the detention of political prisoners without trial for two years. It also embodied the power of detention any political prisoner for two years without trial. It was directed against the developments in India in the context of the freedom movement.
