Detailed Solution

TISCO was the first integrated steel plant set up in India.
TISCO refers to Tata Iron and Steel Company. It was the first integrated steel plant set up in India in 1907 at Jamshedpur by Dorabji Tata. Steel production began in TISCO in 1912. TISCO was set up at a suitable time that changed the whole Iron and  Steel production scenario. England's iron and steel industries were busy with war production during the first world war. As a result, imports to India declined drastically. Iron and steel from TISCO were used in Indian railways, shells, and carriage wheels.
