Detailed Solution

Razia was the first woman ruler of the Delhi Sultanate.
Raziyya is an important figure in the medieval history of the subcontinent as she was the first and only woman ruler of the Delhi Sultanate. She was the daughter of the second Sultan of Delhi, Iltutmish. Iltutmish had sons, but Raziyya, more capable than her brothers, was given the throne of Delhi in 1236 CE. However, she was not appreciated and respected by her nobles due to gender discrimination being the norm at the time.
