Detailed Solution

Badan Singh was the most powerful Jat leader. The official founder of the princely state of Bharatpur was Badan Singh. He was Rao Churaman Singh's nephew. There were familial disagreements between Badan Singh and Muhkam, Churaman's son, when Churaman Singh passed away on September 22, 1721. To placate Muhkam Singh, Badan Singh sided with Jai Singh II of Jaipur. Jai Singh sided with Badan Singh in an intra-family conflict. The Mughal government still viewed Badan Singh as a plebian rebel who should have received the harshest punishment.
