Detailed Solution

Kulaks was the name of the well-to-do peasants. In the history of Russia and the Soviet Union, a wealthy or prosperous peasant was typically defined as someone who had a sizable farm, multiple cattle and horses, and the financial wherewithal to hire labour and lease property. Stalin declared a policy aimed at "liquidating the Kulaks as a class" because he feared the Kulaks would lead to any future uprising. The Kulak family was labelled as "enemies of the people," and everything was stolen from them—including their pots and pans—leaving them homeless and without a single property.
