Henry Ford, a well-known pioneer of mass production, was a vehicle maker. He adopted a Chicago slaughterhouse assembly line (in which butchers picked apart butchered animals as they came down a conveyor belt) for his new car production in Detroit. He realized that the 'assembly line' method would allow for a more efficient and cost-effective vehicle creation.
