Detailed Solution

Lal Qila was the primary residence of the Mughal Emperor. The Red Fort, often referred to as Lal Qila, was the primary home of the Mughal Emperors and is situated in Old Delhi, Delhi, India. Emperor Shah Jahan made the decision to relocate his capital from Agra to Delhi in 1638 and commissioned the building of the Red Fort. Old Delhi is home to the Mughal fort known as the Red Fort, often spelled Lal Qila. It was built by Shah Jahan in the middle of the eighteenth century, and tourists still flock there today. On August 15, 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru flew the Indian flag above the Lahore Gate at Lal Quila to commemorate India's independence. Since then, August 15th, also known as India's Independence Day, has been a tradition for raising the flag at the Red Fort.
