Detailed Solution

Vellalar was the Tamil term for wealthy landowners.
Most settlements in the subcontinent's southern and northern regions were home to at least three different types of people. Large landowners were referred to as Vellalar in the Tamil region, common ploughmen were known as Uzhavar, and landless labourers, including slaves, were called Kadaisiyar and Adimai.
