Detailed Solution

Potti Sriramulu went on a hunger strike, demanding the formation of the Andhra state to protect the interests of Telugu speakers.
The Telugu-speaking areas of what was the Madras Presidency staged the loudest protests. The speakers of Kannada, Malayalam, and Marathi requested their state. To defend the interests of Telugu speakers, Potti Sriramulu went on a hunger strike and demanded the creation of an Andhra state. Potti Sriramulu passed away on December 15, 1952. The newly created state of Andhra, which later changed its name to Andhra Pradesh, was established on October 1, 1953. Assamese, Bengali, Oriya, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu-speaking compact provinces should be formed by redrawing district and provincial boundaries, according to the 1956 report of the States Reorganisation Commission, which was established.
