Buranjis were historical works written by the Ahoms.
Ahoms wrote the historical texts known as Buranjis. From 1228 to 1826, the Assam region and the lands around it were under the control of the Ahom kingdom. The Buranjis, which was composed by the Ahoms and then completed by their successors, was regarded as one of their most important historical works or a chronicle in the Assamese language. They are thought to be the mixed offspring of the indigenous Assamese people who eventually joined the Tai people who arrived and established in Assam through the Brahmaputra Valley around 1228.
