Detailed Solution

Mughals were the major patrons of Kathak. The Mughal Emperors and their nobles were patrons of the arts, and Kathak was a type of dance with a distinctive style that was performed in their courts. Its outstanding patron, Wajid Ali Shah, the last Nawab of Awadh, assisted in its growth into a noteworthy art form. Kathak was performed at the Mughal emperors' and their nobles' courts, where it developed into a distinct dance form and acquired its modern traits. Later, it changed into two distinct traditions, or gharanas, one practised in the courts of Rajasthan and the other in Lucknow. With the help of Wajid Ali Shah, the last Nawab of Awadh, it became an important art genre.
