Detailed Solution

Kalhana wrote a Sanskrit poem about the kings of Kashmir. In contrast to other writers who were content with adoration, he was occasionally critical of them. The Rajatarangini is a metrical mythology and historical chronicle of the northwestern Indian subcontinent, particularly the rulers of Kashmir. It was written in Sanskrit by the Kashmiri historian Kalhana in the 12th century CE. The poem consists of 7826 verses separated into eight books known as Tarangas ("waves"). The Rajataringini is the first piece of Kashmir literature that may be deemed "historical." Despite its incorrect chronology, the book is an important resource for learning about early Kashmir and its neighbours in the northwest of the Indian subcontinent.
