Rassunadri Devi wrote the autobiography Amar Jiban. Rassundari Devi's Amar Jiban (1868–1897) is notable as one of the early autobiographies. As the first full-length autobiography written in Bengali by a woman, it was met with a flood of praise and appreciation shortly after its release. Due to her inability to obtain an education, which prevented Indian women from establishing themselves as writers, this autobiography was more significant than the first part of her autobiography. At the age of 88, she added the second part, which became known as Amar Jiban, in 1897. Rassundari Devi's autobiography was written after she was widowed at the age of 59. The autobiography, Amar Jiban, was first compiled and published in 1868, with the final version appearing in 1897.
