Prem Bihari Narain Raizada wrote the original Constitution of India. He was a superb calligrapher who designed the script for the Indian Constitution and afterwards penned the actual constitution in flowing italics. The original edition was ornamented and decorated by Shantiniketan artists, most notably Nand Lal Bose and Beohar Rammanohar Sinha. Vasant Krishnan Vaidya created the original constitution's calligraphy in Hindi, which Nand Lal Bose elegantly decorated and illuminated. The text is composed of a preamble, 22 sections with 448 articles each, 12 schedules, five appendices, and 115 amendments. Both the Hindi and English editions of the Constitution were handwritten. It is also the longest handwritten constitution in the world.
