Detailed Solution

Applying brakes of a car and stopping a ball are examples of a force that stops a moving body.
A force is defined as a push or a pull, which either causes or ceases motion in an object. It is also responsible for changing the direction of motion of a moving body. By the second law of motion, we know that a force is responsible for providing acceleration to a body which in turn alters the body's velocity- magnitude as well as direction. When we apply brakes to the motorcycle, the  force applied stops the vehicle. Similarly, when a fielder stops the moving ball on the ground with his hands, the force applied stops the moving ball. Thus, they are examples of force that stops a moving body.
