Detailed Solution

Force is a vector quantity.
A force is defined as a push or a pull, which either causes or ceases motion in an object. It is also responsible for changing the direction of motion of a moving body and may change the shape/size of a body. Force imparts impulse to a body and gives acceleration in the direction in which it acts. Therefore, it has magnitude as well as direction. Force is thus a vector quantity.
Scalar quantities are those which only have a magnitude, like mass, time, etc. Chemical quantities are used to express chemical substances into scientific units, for example, moles.
