All-India Muslim League was India’s first Muslim political party. On December 30, 1906, the All-India Muslim League (AIML), also referred to as the Muslim League, was founded in Dhaka, British India, presently in Bangladesh. The AIML was the first Muslim political party in India. The claim was made that the Hindu community was the Congress Party's primary concern. This was untrue because Congress was comprised of Muslim leaders, founded to represent all of the nation's groups. At first, the AIML was essentially a party of well-educated Muslims. The party's main goal was to improve and defend the civil rights of Muslims. It encouraged allegiance to the British government to advance political and civil rights.
