It is given that 4 chairs and 5 tables are purchased by Ram for ₹ 3400. Later, for a total of ₹2500, he purchased 4 additional similar tables and chairs
Let’s assume the cost of a chair is

x

and the cost of a table is

y .

According to the question, we have,

4 x + 5 y = 3400 ⇒ y = 3400 − 4 x 5

Therefore we can draw a table as,

Also,

x + 4 y = 2500.

⇒ y = 2500 − x 4

Therefore the graph can be obtained using the preceding table as follows:

Since both the lines intersect each other at (100,600), therefore the solution is (100,600).

⇒ x = 100, y = 600

Thus, the cost of a chair is ₹100 and the cost of a table is ₹600.
