Principle of method of mixtures

 Heat lost By 40 g water = Heat used in melting x gram of ice

  40×1×60=x×80

  x=30 g

Water mass finally in mixture =40+30 g=70 g

Ice left =50-30 g=20 g

 Ratio of ice to water =20:70=2:7
