Detailed Solution

Kaleidoscopes work on the principle of multiple reflections.
The mirror reflects the images of objects inside, creating a symmetrical pattern. A kaleidoscope is an optical device containing two or more reflecting surfaces tilted at an angle to one another so that when viewed from the other end, one or more (parts of) objects on one end of these mirrors appear as a regular symmetrical pattern due to repeated reflection. Reflectors are often covered in a tube, with one end holding a cell containing loose, coloured glass fragments or other transparent materials to be reflected into the viewed pattern.
The rotation of the cell causes the materials to move, resulting in a constantly changing view.
