Detailed Solution

A normal eye is not able to the objects clearly placed closer than 25 cm. This is due to the reason that focal length cannot be reduced below a certain limit.
The focal length of the normal eye lens cannot be altered to be able to see objects placed closer than 25 cm clearly. This is because the ciliary muscles cannot contract more than a certain limit. Suppose the object is placed closer than 25 cm, the image produced on the retina is blurred. The image is clear only if it is formed on the retina of the eye.
