An electric heater is a practical application of the heating effect of electric current.
According to the heating effect of electric current, when an electric current passes through the wires, they become hot. An electric heater contains a coil of nichrome wire called an element. We know that the heat produced by a wire when an electric current passes through it is directly proporpertional to the resistance of the wire. So we have H=I2R, where H is the heat produced, I is the current flowing through the wire, and R is the resistance of the wire.
