Detailed Solution

A Mosque is called a Masjid in Arabic. A Masjid is a place where a Muslim prostrates in reverence to Allah. Masjid-i-Jami or Jama Masjid, in these kinds of congregational mosques, the Muslims read their prayers, known as Namaz, together. The members of the congregational mosques come together and choose one most respected and learned male as their leader, also called Imam, for the prayer rituals. He is also responsible for delivering the sermon known as Khutba during the Friday prayers. During prayer, all the Muslims stand facing in the direction of Mecca, in India, which is to the west. This is referred to as Qibla.
