A plane mirror is used in a periscope.
As light rays are reflected from the upper end of the periscope to the lower end of the periscope, two plane mirrors in a periscope are placed with respect to one another and are parallel to one another inside the periscope. They are mirrors that face each other.
The two plane mirrors in a periscope are positioned with respect to one another at a 45 degree angle with respect to the sides of the tubes because the inclination makes it easier for light to pass through the periscope's inner gap while preventing reflections on any unwanted areas.
