Recoil velocity is the speed at which the gun strikes back. The law of conservation of linear momentum suggests that
MV+mv=0
Where M is the mass of the gun, V is the recoil velocity, m is the mass of the bullet and v is the velocity of the bullet.

Then the recoil velocity of the gun is;
V=mvM=-0.03×2501.5=-5 m/s
