Detailed Solution

No. of moles of H2 & O2 in 40 ml = 1 × 401000 × 0.0821 × 291 = 1.67 × 10-3

No. of moles of H2 left =1×101000×0.0821×291=4.18×104

Total number of moles of H2 and O2 react in the mole ratio of 2 : 1

No. of moles of out of 1.252×103=1252×103x23=8.35×104

Total no of moles of H2=8.35×104+4.18×104=12.53×104

% of H2 in the original mixture = 12.53×104×1001.67×103=75.0
