From the second equation of motion

From (a) we can write this equation as
h=ut+12gt2............(i) Substituting all the values in the equation (i) we get         1=0×t+12×9.8×t2    1=12×9.8×t2    1=12×9.8×t2    1=4.9×t2 14.9=t2    t2=0.204     t=0.451 s  Thus the time taken by the ball to reach the ground under the given conditions is 0.451 s.
