Using law of conservation of momentum,

m(v1+v2)=mv

v1+v2=v ...(i)

Also , v1−v2=ev .......(ii)

After solving,

v1 =1+e2v and  v2 =1e2v

Given that  Final K.E. =34 Initial K.E. 

or 12mv12+12mv22=3412mv2

Substituting the value, we get 

1+e22+1e22=34(1+e)2+1e2=32+2e2=3e2=12e=12
