Let the balloon ascend for t = 20s

Then height ascended = h1

We know that

s=ut+12at2

Here, h1=12×1410×20×20

h1=14m×20h=280m

v=u+at                               

v=0+(1.4)20

v=28ms1

The height of ball from the balloon,

h2=v22g=28×282×9.8=28×28×102×98=40m

Therefore, height reached by the ball from the ground is:

H=h1+h2=280+40=320m
