Concept- The litmus paper is a type of paper that changes colour according to the acidity of the solution it is dipped in and hance can be used to measure acidity.
The strip of paper which is chemically treated with a dye named litmus. This given strip is placed in the liquid having pH determined. The uses of litmus paper include, if it is red at any pH less than 5 and blue at any pH greater than 8, and allows an inspector to determine whether a solution is acidic or basic.
