As drawn the board ABCD where AD is the length of the board, given length is in feet and inches, that whole we will convert is it into inches, and we will divide the given length of the board by 3 to have three equal parts.
Given, AD = 7 feet 9 inches, and this length is divided into 3 parts.
7 feet 9 inches in inches:
∵ 1 feet = 12 inches
7 feet =

12 \times 7 = 84 inches

∴

length of AD = 84 + 9 = 93

inches

Dividing the length of the board AD is divided into 3 equal parts, and substituting the value of AD,

\Rightarrow \frac{AD}{3}

\Rightarrow \frac{93}{3} = 31

inches
or say 2 feet 7 inches.
Hence, the correct answer is option 2.
