Detailed Solution

According to Newton's law of cooling, [θ1θ2t] =K[(θ1+θ22)θ0]

So that [60407] =K[(60+402)10]K=114.......(i)

Now if after cooling from 40°C to 7 min the temperature of the body becomes θ, according to Newton's law of cooling, [40θ7]=K[(40+θ2)10]

Which in the light of Eq. (i), i.e., K=(1/14), gives

[40θ7]=114[(20+θ2)]1604θ=20+θ;θ=28°C
