 First body has mass =m1

 Initial velocity =u1

 Final velocity =v1

 Second body has mass =m2

 Initial velocity =u2

 Final velocity =v2

We can have

v1=m1m2m1+m2u1v2=2m1m1+m2u1

v2v1=2m1m1m2

To get maximum transfer of energy we need  v1 to become zero

m1m2m1+m2u1=0

we get

m1m2=0m1=m2

Then we can have maximum transfer of energy taking place.
