Detailed Solution

Given, a box contains 19 balls bearing numbers 1, 2, 3, …, 19. A ball is drawn at random from the box.
The probability of an event to be occurred is the division of the number of favourable outcomes by the total number of outcomes that is,
Probability of an event =  Number of favourable cascs   Total number of cascs
Given the number of balls from 1 to 19 in the box is 19 which is the total number of outcomes.
The numbers which are even from 1 to 19 are 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18. So, the number of favourable outcomes is 9.
Finding the required probability by dividing the number of favourable outcomes by total number of outcomes, that is, 9 and 19 respectively.
Probability  =  Number of favourable outcomes   Total number of outcomes  = 9 19   The probability that the number on the ball is an even number is 9 19  .
Hence, the correct option is 1.
