Detailed Solution

It is given that a box of 800 electric bulbs contains 180 defective bulbs and one bulb is taken out at random from this box, we have to find the probability that it is a non-defective bulb.
Required probability,
P= Number of trials in which the event E has happened  Total number of trials
Write the given information,
Total number of electric bulbs in a box = 800.
180 faulty bulbs are present.
Number of non-defective bulbs = 800 - 180 = 620.
Let E = Event of getting a non-defective bulb.
Probability that the bulb is not defective,
P E = 620 800   P E = 62 80 P E = 31 40   Hence, the probability that it is a non-defective bulb is 31 40   .
Therefore, option 3 is correct.
