Detailed Solution

Given that, a boy is cycling such that the wheels of the cycle are making 140 revolutions per minute and the diameter of the wheel is 60 cm.
We know that, the circumference of circle is 2πr   .
Calculating the radius of the wheel.
60 2 =30 cm
Calculating the circumference of the wheel,
2πr=2× 22 7 × 30   22 7 ×60   1320 7  cm
Distance covered in 1 revolution is 1320 7  cm  .
Calculating the distance covered in 140 revolutions.
1320 7 ×140=26400 cm     264 m  264 1000  km
We know that, 1 hour equals to 60 minutes.
 Calculating the distance covered in 1 hour by computing the product of distance and time.
264 1000 ×60=15.84 km/hr
Therefore, the speed per hour which boy is cycling is  15.84 km/hr .
Hence the correct option is 1.
