The average resistance offered by the wall is 50 N.
The force exerted in the opposite direction of the movement of the bullet by the wall to the motion of the bullet is called resistance. So here, we need to find this resistive force by the wall.
According to the given question, we have the information below:
Mass of the bullet, = 4 g
   = 0.004 kg
Initial velocity, = 50 m/s
distance travelled by the bullet (s) = 10 cm
                                                        = 0.1 m
Also, final velocity, v=0 m/s
We have a relation with u, v and a (acceleration)
i.e v2 = u2+ 2as
 0 – 502= 2 × a × 0.1  a= -12500 m/s2 Now we can apply the formula of force, = ma
= 0.004 × -12500
 F = -50 N Thus, here the resistive force is 50 N.
