Detailed Solution

Given,
A car is traveling at the average speed of 50km/hr.
Distance covered by car in 60 minutes (1 hour) =50 km  .
We know that,
1 hour =60 minutes 1 hour 12 minutes =  1×60+12  minutes 1 hour 12 minutes=72 minutes    Let distance covered by car in 72 minutes (1 hour 12 minutes) be x km.
Then,

Distance covered (in km)

50

x

Time taken (in minutes)

60

72

We can clearly observe that, the more time is taken, more will be the distance covered. Therefore, this is the case of direct proportion.
As this is the case of direct proportion, therefore the ratio will remain constant throughout the table that is,
50 60 = x 72 5 6 = x 72    Cross multiplying,
5×72=6×x   Solving for x, x= 360 6 x=60   Hence, the distance covered by car in 1 hour 12 minutes is 60 km.
Therefore, option 4 is correct.
