As it has average velocity 20m/s and travels for 25 sec, the total distance travelled is 25 x20=500m. Assuming journey is with constant acceleration and retardation for time  t  (for both cases same magnitude and same initial or final velocity)

So distance travelled during this time=  2×12at2  and remaining time 25-2t with maximum velocity i.e. “at” then2×12at2+25-2tat= 500 at2+25at-2at2=500  here a=5 m/s2 5t2+125t-10t2=500  or, t2-25t+100=0 Solving,  we get t=5 or 20   20 is not possible as total time is more than 2t Time for constant velocity is  25-10=15
