A car starts from rest and accelerates uniformly to a speed of 180 kmh-¹ in 10s. The distance covered  by the car in the time interval is 

Given, $\mathrm{u} = 0, \mathrm{v} = 180 {\mathrm{kmh}}^{-1}=50 {\mathrm{ms}}^{-1}$

Time taken, t = 10s, $\mathrm{a} = \frac{\mathrm{v} - \mathrm{u}}{\mathrm{t}} = \frac{50}{10} = 5 {\mathrm{ms}}^{-2}$ 

Distance covered by the car, 

                         $s=ut+\frac{1}{2}a{t}^2=0+\frac{1}{2}\times 5\times (10{)}^2$

                            $=\frac{500}{2}=250 \mathrm{m}$
