Drupe develops from monocarpellary or multi carpellary syncarpous superior ovary with one or more seeds each enclosed in a hard and stony endocarp. Epicarp is thin, mesocarp is thick, fleshy and juicy (Mangifera) or fibrous (Cocos). In cocos pericarp is not edible.
