There are 28 different books of Maths.
The 12 different books of Social Science.
The 16 different books of science.
The number of books each student got is 4.
Thus,
⇒   Total number of books = 28+16+12
⇒   Total number of books=56
According to question,
Each student got an equal number of books.
⇒ Total students who got books= total number of books number of books each student got ⇒Total students who got books= 56 4 ⇒Total students who got books=14  
Thus, the total number of students who got books is 14.
Therefore, option (1)     is the correct answer.
