Detailed Solution

A coin is tossed three times. The number of possible outcomes is 8.
It is given that, a coin is tossed for 3   times.
Like that, a coin have two sides one called head H   and other called tail T  .
Case (1):
When the head appears all the time, the possible set is {HHH}.
Case (2):
When the head appears two times and the tail appears one time, the possible set is {HHT, HTH, THH}.
Case (3):
When the head appears one time and the tail appears two times, the possible set is {HTT, THT, TTH}.
Case (4)
When the tail appears all the time, the possible set is {TTT}.
Therefore, a coin is tossed 3   times and the number of possible outcomes is 8   such that HHH, HHT, HTH, THH, TTH, THT, HTT, TTT.
Hence, the number of possible outcomes is 8  .
