A conductor of length 65 cm has a resistance of 4 Ω. The resistance of the same conductor of length 260 cm is 16 Ω.
Length of the silver wire L1= 65 cm
Resistance of the silver wire   R1= 4 Ω
Length of the wire   L2= 260 cm
Resistance of the wire = R2  = (ρLA)   Where ρ= resistivity of the conductor, L= length of the conductor, = area of cross-section of conductor
Resistance is directly proportional to the length of a conductor.
Therefore,
 R1R2 = L1L2
Substituting the values,
4 R2  =65260
    R2= 260×465 
   R2= 16  Ω
