A wire's resistance is inversely proportional to its area and directly proportional to its length.
It means resistance RlA  Or  R=ρlA  where l is the length of the wire, A is the cross-sectional area of the wire, ρ is the resistivity of the wire.   Let the initial resistance of the wire is R=ρlA
When the wire is doubled, its length becomes l2 and the wire’s cross-sectional area becomes 2A, then resistance R=ρl22A
