Detailed Solution

A convex mirror is used for rear-view on an automobile has a radius of curvature of 15.00 m. If a bus is located at 5.00 m from this mirror, the position of the image will be 3 m.
It has been given that,
Object distance, (u)=-5 m
Radius of curvature, (R)=15 m
Where v is the distance of the image from the mirror, u is the distance of the object from the mirror, and f is the focal length of the mirror.
Focal length, f=R2 f=15.002 f= 7.50 m
Applying mirror formula,
1v+1u=1f
1v=1f-1u
1v=12.50-1-5.00
 v=3 m
