Given as follows,
Diameter of base of the cylindrical container = 56 cm
The volume of the cylinder = π r 2 h   The volume of water rising in a cylindrical container is equal to the volume of the rectangular solid.
We equate the volume of water rise in a cylindrical container and the volume of the rectangular solid,
22 7 ×28×28×h=9856  
h= 9856×7 22×784   h = 4cm
Thus, the rise in the level of the water after the solid has completely submerged will be 4 cm.
Therefore, the correct option is 3.
