We use the unitary method.
We assume the cost price of a VCR set as the divisor, the number of VCR sets as quotient and the total cost price of all the VCR sets as the dividend in the following division algorithm.
Dividend = Divisor × Quotient + Remainder  
We shall now perform the multiplication in the following way using the distributive property.
⇒24350×139+0 ⇒24350×139 ⇒24350×(140−1) ⇒24350×140−24350×1 ⇒3409000−24350 ⇒3384650
