Given that a die is thrown once.
We have to find the probability of getting a number lying between 2   and 6  .
According to the question sample space is 1,2,3,4,5,6  .
i.e. n s =6   And favourable outcomes for a number between 2 and 6 is 3,4,5  
i.e. n A =3   Probability is given as,
P A = no of favourable outcomes total no of outcomes  
= 3 6 = 1 2  .
The probability of getting a number lying between 2   and 6   is 1 2  .
Therefore, the correct option is 3.
